Middle suprarenal arteries

  • The middle suprarenal arteries (also known as the middle capsular arteries, suprarenal arteries, Latin: sg. arteria suprarenalis media) are two small, lateral branches of the abdominal aorta that arise just above the renal arteries. These arteries participate in supplying the suprarenal glands.

These arteries pass laterally and slightly upward, over the crura of the diaphragm. They reach the suprarenal glands, where they create anastomoses with suprarenal branches of the inferior phrenic arteries and renal arteries.
