Deep iliac circumflex vein

  • The deep iliac circumflex vein (latin: vena circumflexa ilium profunda) is a tributary of the external iliac vein.

Each deep iliac circumflex vein is formed by the union of the venae comitantes of the corresponding artery.

This vein collects blood from the lower part of the lateral wall of the abdomen. The deep iliac circumflex vein drains into the external iliac vein a little above the inguinal ligament.
