Circular sinus

  • The circular sinus (latin: sinus circularis) is a venous channel situated in a circular manner around the hypophysis.

The circular sinus is formed by the left and right cavernous sinuses, and by the intercavernous sinuses.

Venous blood from the circular sinus drains into the superior petrosal sinus, inferior petrosal sinus, and basilar plexus.
